Workshop on the topic “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design”

Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy, Buldana’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) organized a workshop on the topic “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design” for M. Pharm Second Year students. The program was coordinated by Mr. Sachin P. Borikar, Assistant Professor from the Department of Pharmacology, who warmly welcomed the guest speaker, Dr. Manohar Nandanwar, by presenting a bouquet. Dr. Nandanwar is currently working as Vice President of Toxicology at Wockhardt Research Center, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Dr. Nandanwar began his session by highlighting the core principles and objectives of design thinking, emphasizing the key lenses of desirability, feasibility, and viability. He explained that these principles are instrumental in equipping students with the foundational understanding necessary for pursuing innovation and research. Using relatable examples such as the evolution and upgradation of smartphones, Dr. Nandanwar illustrated how innovation drives technological advancement. He also explored the essential aspects of research articles and drug discovery processes, offering valuable insights drawn from his extensive experience in the field. Furthermore, Dr. Nandanwar provided an in-depth explanation of the various stages of the design thinking process, offering practical guidance on their application in real-world scenarios. He also discussed the concepts of critical and innovative thinking, shedding light on their significance in fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. The session underscored how these approaches can be effectively integrated to enhance research outcomes and business strategies.

The workshop concluded with an engaging Question and answer session, where students actively participated, seeking clarity and gaining deeper insights into the discussed topics. The interaction further enriched their understanding and provided them with actionable knowledge to apply in their academic and professional pursuits. At the end of the program, Ms. Kashmira Malusare, Assistant Professor, expressed gratitude by delivering a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Manohar Nandanwar for sharing their expertise and making the workshop a valuable learning experience.
