Awareness Session on POSCO Act Held at Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy

An enlightening awareness session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act was conducted at Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy, organized by the NSS unit of the college in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Buldhana. The session aimed to educate students and the general public about the provisions of the POSCO Act and its importance in protecting children from sexual abuse.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Shirish Jain, Principal of Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy, who emphasized the need for awareness about child protection laws and their role in creating a safer environment for children.
The key speaker for the session, Mr. Nitin Patil, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Buldhana, took the audience through the various provisions of the POSCO Act, explaining its objectives, legal framework, and the procedures involved in handling child sexual abuse cases. He urged the audience to be vigilant and proactive in identifying and reporting cases of abuse to ensure justice for the victims.
The session also highlighted the importance of legal education and the role of institutions like Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy in creating informed, responsible citizens.
The program was anchored by Mr. Rohit Salkute, Program Officer of NSS, who ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Snehal Deshmane, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, participants, and NSS volunteers for their efforts in organizing the session.
The NSS volunteers played a crucial role in making the event a success, from coordinating with the speakers to handling the logistics and ensuring the smooth running of the session.
