An insightful and interactive academic session titled “From Prescription to Incision: Role of Pharmacists in Surgical Care” was successfully organized at Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy in association with Neuvocare Pharma. The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the expanding role of pharmacists in modern surgical and clinical healthcare settings.
The session was graced by renowned General and Laparoscopic Surgeon Dr. Abhilash Mali as the distinguished resource person. Through an engaging and thought-provoking presentation, Dr. Mali highlighted the significant contributions of pharmacists in perioperative care, medication management, patient safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and interdisciplinary healthcare collaboration.
During the session, students gained valuable insights into the integration of pharmacotherapy with surgical practice. Dr. Mali emphasized how pharmacists can actively contribute to optimizing medication therapy before, during, and after surgical procedures, thereby improving patient outcomes and minimizing medication-related complications.
