Schrödinger & BITS Pilani have jointly organised International Conference on Drug Discovery at K K Birla, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. The conference was held on 10-11 November ,2022. Four faculty members namely Dr. V P Sonar, Dr. D K Lokwani, Mr. S P Borikar, Ms. D N Tapre have attended the conference. Dr. V P Sonar presented his work in poster format on a topic entitled “Analysis of Ethylene Oxide and Asbestos, a known carcinogen, by using Head space GC and X-ray Crystallography.” Dr. D K Lokwani had presented his work entitled “Development of L858R/T790M/C797S Mutant EGFR Inhibitors Targeting Resistance in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).”
10th November was the was the inaugural day of the event followed by the sessions of the eminent speakers and Poster presentation of phase one in the evening. On 11th November there were plenary sessions of the invited speakers and the poster presentations of the delegates in phase 2. Program was concluded on the evening of 11th September in a valedictory function. Entire conference was organized by BITS Pilani, K K Birla, Goa Campus. We had a very good interaction with the delegates came from across the India and overseas. Fruitful discussion with Dr. Karen Akinsanya, President, R&D – Therapeutics, Schrödinger; Dr. Pravin Iyer, Senior Vice President & Head – Drug Discovery Research (NCE), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.; Dr. Devleena Shivakumar, Senior Research Scientist, Gilead Sciences; Dr. Simon Hayder, Senior Vice President, Integrated Drug Discovery Services, Aragen Life Sciences and many other eminent personalities have surely helped us to get a broader view of future of Computational Chemistry.
