National Service Scheme (NSS)

National Service Scheme, Popularly known as NSS is an extension of activities to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in education institutions, under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. The Motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme if “NOT ME BUT YOU”

AIM of NSS:- “DEVELOPMENT OF THE PERSONALITY OF STUDENTS THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE”

Objectives of NSS:

    • Understand the community in which they work
    • Understand themselves in relation to their community
    • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them inproblem-solving
    • Develop among them a sense of social and civic responsibility
    • Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual andcommunity problems.
    • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing ofresponsibilities.
    • Gain skills in mobilising community participation
    • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
    • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
    • Practice national integration and social harmony

Institutional Advisory Committee:

Aims: The cardinal principle of the Advisory committee is to advised NSS scheduled programmed for smoothly conducting activity organized by the students themselves and both students and teachers through their combined participation in social service, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of national development.
