Aavishkar – the Maharashtra State Inter-University Research Convention – was initiated in 2006-07 by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the State Universities to identify hidden innovative talent among students, develop their research aptitude and creativity, and recognize meritorious young researchers. The convention is conducted in three phases – District, University and State level – across six categories, namely Humanities, Languages & Fine Arts; Commerce, Management & Law; Pure Sciences; Agriculture & Animal Husbandry; Engineering & Technology; and Medicine & Pharmacy, at the UG, PG and PPG (M.Phil./Ph.D.) levels.

As the first phase of Aavishkar 2026-27, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati organized the District Level Research Convention for Students of Buldhana district at Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon on 29th October 2026, for participants shortlisted at the institute-level screening of their respective colleges.

To prepare for this phase, Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy (RSCP), Buldhana conducted its Institute Level Aavishkar on 10th October 2026, where a panel of Heads of Departments evaluated the entries of its students. Following the Aavishkar norm of two entries per level in each category, a total of 30 groups (12 UG, 12 PG and 6 PPG) across the six categories were selected to represent RSCP at the district level. At Shegaon, the participants presented their research work as posters and models before the jury panel appointed by the Aavishkar Cell, SGBAU. Of these, 16 groups (4 UG, 9 PG and 3 PPG) secured ranks at the district level – 8 First, 5 Second and 3 Third ranks.
