Equal Opportunity Cell

Equal Opportunity Cell

Introduction

India is a country of diversity. It is a hub of different religions, castes and cultures. However, the Indian society is characterized by a highly entrenched system of social stratification. It is these social inequalities that created the barriers of denial of access to materials, cultural and educational resources to the disadvantaged groups of society. These disadvantaged groups are SCs, STs, women, OBC (non-creamy layer), minorities and physically challenged persons. It is clear from the demographic factors that a large section of population of our country is still disadvantaged and marginalized.  India is potentially rich in human resources. To harvest the same and make the present education system inclusive, the degree of democratization of higher education has to be increased to a large extent. Further colleges should become more responsive to the needs and constraints of the disadvantaged social groups. Therefore, the institute has planned to establish Equal Opportunity Cell in college for the welfare of the disadvantaged and marginalized groups of the society and to remove difficulties, which they may be experiencing.

SC/ST Cell

SC/ST CELL

Introduction

India is a country of diversity. It is a center of different religions, castes and cultures. However, the Indian society is characterized by a highly-entrenched system of social stratification. Social inequalities have led to denial of access to materials, cultural and educational resources to the disadvantaged groups of societies. Higher education is a tool for social and economic equality; therefore, the institute has constituted SC/ST Cell which would help in eliminating the social disparities.

SC/ST Cell at RSCP

The scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell in an institute promotes the special interest of students in the reserved category and to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties. The cell regularly has to conduct interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.

The SC/ST/ students can approach the Convener/Coordinator of the Cell for redressal of any grievance(s) regarding academic, administrative or social problems. The Convener/Coordinator will meet the concerned students, understand their problem and take necessary action and/or render them necessary advice/help to resolve the matter. SC/ST Cell is to help the SC/ST categories integrate with other communities of the institute and to remove difficulties, which they may be experiencing.

Establishment of committee for SC/ST for the Academic year 2021-22 is as follows:

Women Empowerment Cell

Women Empowerment Cell

ABOUT:

Male and female residents of the nation have equal access to a safe and secure environment for employment and education. Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Indian Constitution provide “gender equality” and the “right to life and liberty” to everyone. Therefore, it is the responsibility and obligation of every organisation to maintain the fundamental rights of all employees, whether male or female, to live and work with dignity. At the same time, people occasionally experience breaches of fundamental rights. Due to this, measures must be taken to ensure gender equality.

Working women frequently encounter difficulties and challenges at work due to historical reasons, necessitating the necessity for protective measures that protect women’s rights and safety.
