Rajarshi Shahu College of Pharmacy organized a Reel Making Competition on 24 September 2026 as part of the Pharmacist Day Celebration 2026. The competition was open to students of D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm, providing them with an innovative platform to showcase their creativity, pharmaceutical knowledge, and awareness about the pharmacy profession.
The initiative was conceptualized with the valuable guidance and idea of Hon. Principal Dr. S. P. Jain, who encouraged the use of social media as an innovative medium for promoting awareness about the pharmacy profession. The programme received active support and cooperation from all teaching and non-teaching staff members, contributing to its successful execution.
Students prepared informative reels focusing on the role of pharmacists in patient care, rational use of medicines, medication safety, antimicrobial resistance, patient counselling, community and clinical pharmacy, public health awareness, self-medication and drug abuse, pharmaceutical innovations, digital transformation in healthcare, and the future of pharmacy.
Participants were encouraged to share their reels on Instagram using the Collab feature with the official RSCP Instagram account, thereby extending pharmacy-related awareness to the wider community. The entries were evaluated based on creativity, originality, relevance, educational value, presentation, content quality, and overall impact.
The competition received enthusiastic participation from students across different academic years. The First Prize was secured by Tejas Phadke and Group from M.Pharm, while the Runner-Up position was awarded to Ashwini Patil and Group from Final Year B.Pharm. Their creative and informative presentations effectively highlighted the evolving role of pharmacists and their contribution to healthcare.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Vaishnavi Patil and successfully engaged students in communicating the importance, responsibilities, and diverse contributions of pharmacists to healthcare and society. The collective efforts of the Principal, faculty members, staff, and students made the initiative a meaningful and innovative contribution to the Pharmacist Day.
